Should slavery actually still exist?

I’ve been reading up on the social history of the Greek and Roman eras.

Back then, there were so many famous philosophers and scientists—simply because they had nothing better to do.

Slaves handled all the daily chores, leaving them with no actual work... so, naturally, they became philosophers.

Contrast that with modern times... becoming a philosopher is the last thing on our minds; we’re constantly stressing about work, money, and so on.

So, I’ve come to think that abolishing slavery might just have been the biggest mistake in human history.4
